Made up of a white / tooth-coloured acrylic, composite restorations are one of the most subtle, and biocompatible ways to restore a tooth. At Square Mile Dental Centre, we can use composite restorations to repair a tooth that has been damaged by a cavity / carie, suffered a form of dental injury or trauma to the face, been worn down by erosion, abrasion or attrition, or has enamel defects.
When receiving this treatment, we’ll first isolate the tooth being treated before preparing it for receiving the composite material. This is achieved by etching the surface of the tooth which helps make it more receptive. We’ll then carefully layer the composite material onto the surface of the tooth, expertly shaping and moulding it to the natural shape of your tooth before using a UV light to set it in place. Finally, we’ll polish it up for the ultimate finish.
