Frequently Asked Questions

What are the follow up or aftercare procedures?

A retainer can help to keep the teeth in their new straightened position, whilst allowing for flexibility in wearing. Our clinicians will talk through all the options we have available and will provide you with comprehensive aftercare and check-ups.

Will it hurt?

Fixed Short-term Orthodontics (STO) treatments are usually much less painful than wearing a traditional brace. You may still feel some pressure or discomfort to the teeth when you first start treatment, but this should alleviate with time.

Am I a good candidate for fixed STO?

The option of a fixed STO is often a much more appealing option for many patients as it provides a quick and effective route to straighter teeth and a more confident smile. Square Mile Dental Centre offers a free 15 minute video consultation to all patients who wish to discuss their options, or alternatively, you can book an in-person consultation at the practice.

What if I’m not considered to be a good candidate?

There are many ways that Square Mile Dental Centre can straighten a person’s teeth, and improve their smile. If it is thought that a fixed STO is not the right option for you, we can discuss the other options we have available.
